What brought you to Carrier Mills 1st United Methodist Church? Grew up in the church

What do you like about Carrier Mills 1st United Methodist Church? Very friendly and welcoming, casual; the church is like a second family.

What is your vision for Carrier Mills 1st United Methodist Church? Growth of the congregation, expanding our children's and youth programs, more involvement for local mission work, and community outreach programs for at-risk youth.

What has God done for you? God has done so much for me. There is not one place to start. God has helped me keep my strength through many challenges that has come about in life. I have been able to turn to the Lord in prayer to help keep my strength in times of financial struggles, loss of loved ones, and various other trials and tribulations.

Where do you work?   Pre-k teacher in Herrin IL

What are your hobbies and interests? I enjoy hanging out with family and friends, going to the movies, shopping, taking my children to the park, and participating in youth ministries.

Favorite book?   Not much on reading

Favorite movie?   Anything funny or suspenseful.

Favorite TV show?   The Voice and Major Crimes

Favorite genre of music?   R&B

What’s your favorite way to spend a Saturday afternoon? Relaxing with my family, enjoying a movie, and getting to take a nap!

What would people be surprised to learn about you? I love to sing but sound horrible. I also have this weird habit where I have to touch light switches two times when I turn off a light switch, touch the fridge to make sure it’s shut every time when I walk past it, and touch all the locks to make sure they are locked at night time even though I can visibly see that they are locked!! It’s tiresome!!
